Solar Car Challenge Event Update 2024-4: Insurance for Solar Cars
Rule 8.8: Liability Insurance - Teams must submit proof of liability insurance on their solar car during the scrutineering process. We are working with the Frederiksen Insurance Agency to arrange an insurance opportunity for Solar Car Challenge Participants. We were informed that the Philadelphia Insurance Company has agreed to provide a general liability policy for teams at the Texas Motor Speedway at $300 per team for the 2024 closed-track event. This coverage provides for bodily injury and property damage anyone on the team would cause to a third party. This policy would be adequate for the Texas Motor Speedway event, but is not true automobile liability coverage. If you are interested in securing this insurance, please contact Melinda Carey at the Frederikson Agency (melinda@fredandfred.bom) and provide the following information: (1) Name of Team/School
